Feed your Sense of adventure and need for a break from your routine with a Retreat and Wildlife Safari in South Africa
May 2 - 12 2012: Only 4 spaces left!
Our Yoga Retreat and Safari offers you the chance to make a complete break from your daily routine and immerse yourself in a new environment. Each day brings adventure with lions, elephants, giraffe, cheetah and landscapes like you have never seen before. The meditation and yoga practice is deepened by the unique environment returning you refreshed and with an inner awareness of a new place.
Our lodge is small and features 3 tree houses elevated up for spectacular views of the mountains and the sunset. Inside each cabin is a personal safe, toilet, sink and spa tub, and a fun outside shower with a 180' view of the reserve. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon just sitting on the verandah listening to the birds.

Our mornings start early with a game drive or walk before breakfast. We will see the sun rise over the bushveld and watch lions returning from hunting, while elephants and rhinos begin their day. Breakfast is a hardy meal when we return. Guests can relax in the tree houses reading or try our archery range. Mid afternoon is reserved for the daily yoga practice after which we will head out to explore another part of the reserve either on foot or in the open safari vehicles. Our meals are served outside under the stars and feature traditional roasts, barbeque, puddings and breads.
No trip to Africa would be complete without a day in the famous Kruger National Park. Here we will see large herds of elephant enjoying mud baths, predators, and many of the rare and endangered species. Our drivers and guides are very knowledgeable and love to share stories and facts with our guests. For active fun we will ride a zipline down into a forested valley. Guests also have the option to ride an elephant into the savannah on a special elephant backed safari. We also will stay at a family owned lodge famous for its big cat breeding programs. Guests enjoy the up close encounters with many species of African cats while they learn about conservation.

The weather in May is very comfortable with low humidity, days warm enough for shorts and t-shirts without being too hot, and cool nights. We will spend much of our time outside and the temperatures are very comfortable is you dress in layers in the morning and evenings. Bugs are not a problem at this time of the year as the rains have stopped and the cool nights kill off the mosquitoes
A chance to deepen your practice is not the only benefit of attending a retreat. Travel to a location as unique as South Africa will surround you with new stimulus and each part of the day will present new experiences, tastes, places, and emotions. The yoga and meditation sessions will become an important time to process all of the new experiences and find how they can enhance you. This retreat is a great way to have a unique adventure that will change and refresh you.
